Call for Applications: Funded PhD on the Decline of Local News and its Impact on Communities, Misinformation, and Public Trust
/Tim Neff and I have been lucky enough to secure funding from Research England’s East Midlands Collaboratory for a PhD project on the decline of local news and its implications for trust and civic identity.
Supervision will be fully joint and collaborative, and involve me, Tim Neff at Leicester, and Emma Guy and Rhys Everquill at the community-funded Leicester Gazette. The successful candidate will be registered at Loughborough for administrative purposes.
Deadline: November 29, 2026. Project commences February 2027.
